When Stephanie from Arbor Terrace Lakeway’s front desk got a distressed text message from a resident at 6 a.m. one morning, she immediately knew what to do. The resident’s dog had fallen ill, and our resident was distraught over not being able to take him to the vet in time. For Stephanie, there was no question about it. She responded right away that she would find a ride for Bentley, the dog, to get him to the vet promptly. Because our residents and their families – both human and four-legged – are family to us as well.
Jessica, who is the Resident Care Director here at Arbor Terrace Lakeway, and Teresa, a Senior Care Counselor, describe what stood out to them both when they first walked through the doors at Arbor Terrace Lakeway. They saw that everyone had big smiles on their faces. Residents and staff members were engaging with each other, immersed in fun activities, chatting it up with one another, and everyone seemed to truly enjoy each other’s company. Jessica mentions that when she noticed not a single person she talked to seemed to have a bad day when she came in, that’s when she knew she wanted to be a part of the Arbor family.
When Danna joined Arbor Terrace Lakeway to help seniors get stronger and healthier with physical therapy classes, she loved being able to focus on the most important aspect of her work: helping residents live stronger and healthier lives. And enjoying every moment of it.
