This holiday season the residents and staff at Arbor Terrace Mountainside decided to focus on gratefulness.
The residents set out on a mission recently to contemplate the things that they are most thankful for during these turbulent times. Their notes of gratefulness will don the Thankful Tree to be displayed in a common area of the community.
“I am thankful for my work family and the love and patience of my family at home. Projects like this are especially important today, because it helps our residents continue to live and remain in a place of gratitude,” said Amefika Gray, engagement director. “It is a way for them to press on and keep a positive outlook on life and living, despite the calamities and challenges of the times.”
If the tree had a thankfulness theme, it would be family. Here are just a few of the many sentiments expressed by the Arbor Terrace Mountainside family of residents.
Millie: Wonderful years with my husband, life, wonderful family and their love, and a gifted life with marvelous friends.
Frances: I am thankful for my husband doing well, and our beautiful children and grands.
Mel: I am very thankful for my entire family.
Dan: I am thankful for my lovely wife being with me and being alive.
There is no doubt that each leaf on the Thankful Tree was grown with love that can only come from a family of residents and staff banding together through difficult times.
