Arbor Terrace Mount Laurel is one of two Arbor communities participating in a pilot memory care program. Ella, a digital caregiver assistant, can be used to assist staff when providing care to residents with dementia or other cognitive conditions.
Ella’s database includes interventions for over 60 different reactions or behaviors residents might experience as potential stressors or misunderstandings. Because families can enter in specific medical history and information about their loved ones, Ella can offer customized responses that are unique to the individual resident. The app also comes with a comprehensive library of training materials and memory care resources.
This pilot program seeks to use Ella to decrease reliance on medication and lessen the frequency of dementia-related behaviors. This program is one additional resource that Arbor Terrace staff can use to provide person-centered memory care.
