Jeannette is our most recent centenarian! She is physically active and attends many events. Some of her favorite activities are bingo and Sunday happy hour. Let's get to know this fascinating woman!
From a farmhouse in New England to Peachtree City, Georgia, Jeannette Parish has lived a wonderful and exciting life. She was born at home in the small New England town of Lincoln, Rhode Island on January 12, 1923. She is a sister to three siblings – all girls – and their life on the farm, though hard work, was a great way to grow up.
As a young girl, she enjoyed sewing, riding horses, dancing and playing bridge. She was also active in the 4-H club. She married Michael (Mike) Parish in 1951 and together they raised four children. In addition, Jeannette has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. During her married years, she and Mike lived in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and then spent their retirement years in Florida. As a retired couple, they loved to travel, play golf and card games.
Jeannette was quite an accomplished golfer and bridge player. She and Mike had been married for 60 years when he passed away in 2011. In 2017, Jeannette moved to Georgia and made Arbor Terrace Peachtree City her home. She was happy to be close to her oldest daughter, Marion. Jeannette has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Arbor Terrace and has met many wonderful friends. She is excited to turn 100 in January! Please join us to celebrate this special woman!
