Safe Landings at Arbor
One of the ways we actively address fall prevention and assessment at The Arbor Company is through our Safe Landings training program. This set of resources was created to equip our staff with the material they need to:
- Identify individual resident fall risks.
- Collaborate with families, residents and medical staff.
- Reduce and eliminate risk factors.
- Establish a process for fall assessment and resident evaluation.
But fall prevention in our communities goes deeper than training alone. We also strive to make deep connections as well.

Making deep connections with our residents and their families allows us to identify fall risks for each individual based on their personal and medical history. By understanding these unique risk factors, we can reduce the risks themselves.

Working Together with Families
One of the elements of the Safe Landings program is a resource for resident families. With it, we share information about how they can help identify and eliminate fall risks for their loved ones.
We also help them understand how to work together with our staff and their family medical practitioners to keep their senior safe. By understanding certain medications, packing appropriately, and furnishing and arranging their apartment safely, families can proactively reduce the risk of falls for their loved one.
