The Arbor Company provides award-winning training and resources for staff to advance their careers. The Arbor Grows Nursing Leadership Program allows members of our resident care team to gain valuable leadership skills and experience.
In addition to receiving a deep understanding of the goals and execution of person-centered care, the program trains participants on the hows and whys of The Arbor Way, and how serving residents and their families supports this mission.
Nurses in the program identify personal and professional goals and begin to develop a path to attain them. Monthly program topics include servant leadership, coaching, transformational leadership skills, as well as provide students with a mentor to further their development. This mentorship allows participants to receive valuable insight into what it means to be a leader in a healthcare organization.
Christopher Dinsmore, a graduate of the leadership program, said, “it was comforting to see a company that actually invested in its employees. Whether it be time management, work/life balance – it was a pleasant surprise.”
The ultimate goal of the program is to better serve residents through staff that is experienced, tenured, and feels empowered to lead. Once nurses graduate from the program, they have the resources they need to move forward in their careers and are instantly able to be better leaders and stronger care providers in their communities.
“Just the fact that you work for Arbor speaks volumes,” said Talisha Evans, another program graduate. “I believe that Arbor has that reputation with other assisted living communities, that they really pour into their people.”
