Since the beginning of the pandemic just over a year ago, The Arbor Company has used every tool to combat COVID-19 and keep Arbor residents and staff safe. These tools include things like PPE, screening, testing, social distancing, quarantining, restrictions, and limitations.
Now the COVID-19 vaccine has emerged as a tool that appears to be both powerful and effective in preventing the spread of this disease. We're proud of the fact we were among the first groups eligible for the vaccine, and all eligible communities have completed at least their first two rounds of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine clinics.
Our focus is on everyone's safety, and we believe the best option we have right now to promote resident and staff safety is the vaccine. Therefore, The Arbor Company has decided to require the COVID-19 vaccine for all Arbor employees. After careful research, our team decided this is the best way to protect the health and safety of residents while also creating the safest work environment for our Arbor people.
These vaccines allow us to take even more steps toward a safe and healthy future. This means all Arbor communities can expect to see a steady and appropriate loosening of restrictions as it becomes safe to make these changes (and as allowed by state and local guidelines).
Take a look at what this means for our residents in the video below.
Assuming the vaccine is made readily available in all areas within the Arbor footprint, the current deadline for all staff to be vaccinated is June 30, 2021. We are continuing to partner with pharmacies, physicians, and state agencies to get access to vaccines for our residents and staff.
As stated in the Arbor service vision, we are here for one purpose: to engage and enrich the life and spirit of our residents. We believe this decision is the right one to safeguard those who most depend on us and to create a safe work environment for all Arbor people.
